Here is the story behind the gloss!
Born in 1912, Daisy Byers rode a wagon to a small 1 room school house. Johnny was an older boy and Daisy was in the first grade. Johnny teased Daisy and Daisy didn’t like Johnny. He was just mean in her eyes. One day Johnny asked Daisy, “What is your middle name?” Daisy told him she wasn’t going to tell him because he was always so mean with teasing her. Johnny continued to press and accused Daisy of not having a middle name. This upset Daisy and she told him, “I do too have a middle name! I will tell you tomorrow what it is if you will just be nice to me.” When Daisy got home, she asked her mom and sure enough she did not have a given middle name. She fussed and worried not knowing what she was going to tell Johnny. She knew he would tease her more if he knew she didn’t have a middle name. The next morning as they were going to school Johnny asked Daisy, “So what is your middle name?” Daisy hung her head confused and distraught. As she looked down she saw a patch of pink flowers. She smiled brightly, lifted her head, looked Johnny square in the eye and said, “My middle name is Pink Flower! My name is Daisy Pink Flower!” Well, as you can imagine the teasing never stopped there but Daisy had an informal middle name. Daisy was my grandmother; she passed away, October 19, 2005; one day before her 93rd birthday. This is just one of the many stories she shared with us and we miss her greatly! This Lip gloss is dedicated in loving memory of Grandma Daisy.
