Delicious Smoothie Recipe

I made the most delicious smoothie for breakfast this morning!  I just have to share this recipe with you!  I'm sorry, I didn't think in time to take a picture but it's a beautiful burgundy red in color and the texture is amazing!  So here is the recipe!  Hope you enjoy it too!

1 banana
1 cup strawberries
1 1/2 cups beet tops
1 large kale leaf
1 Tab Milk Thistle Seeds

Blend it all together add ice if you like it super cold (my banana and strawberries were frozen).

I Love this photo!  It is so very accurate.  When we choose to eat for life, we choose to eat foods that are healthy and nourishing to our body.  I would much rather recieve a heart tin with fresh fruits and vegetables over chocolate gooey yuck that I know is not good for me.  Not only that, but if someone gives a gift like this one, it shows that they truly care for you, your health and your longevity too.

Eating Basics

We have all heard that we are what we eat and we all know what the bad stuff includes but let's discuss it just a little further and talk about the good things to eat as well.

Foods to restrict or eliminate entirely:

White Sugar
White Flour
White Rice
Iceberg Lettuce
Dairy Products (including cheese, milk and yogurt)
Nitrates, Flouride, Caffeine
Carbonated Drinks
Artificial Sweeteners including NutraSweet, Aspartame
Processed foods
Soy Products

Ok!  So what should we be eating?

Raw fruits & vegetables
Dark Leafy greens (Romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, broccolli etc.)
Organic Meats
Whole Sprouted grains (our bodies do not process grains preoperly unless they are sprouted)
Organic/Raw nuts and seeds
Sweeteners (Raw Honey, Raw Sugar, Maple Syrup or Stevia)

Is Food Cmbining Important?

Eat Meats with vegetables
Eat Starches with vegetables (not with meat)
Eat fruit alone and preferable on an empty stomach
Fruits and vegetables can be combined in smoothies without interupting digestion.

What about Fats?

Avoid hydrogenated oils (these are low fat products and trans-fatty acids which cause your cholesterol to go up.  Hydrogenated oil have been heated to extremely high temperatures that changes the oils so the body cannot break them down.  Hydrogenated oils are found in most packaged  & processed foods.

Fats that are good to eat!

Olive Oil
Fats that are found naturally in whole vegetables such as avocados, nuts and seeds is also good!

The Liver Cleanse = Optimal Health

Doing a liver cleanse is relatively painless!  That's the good news!  Unfortunately, doing right isn't necessarily easy but if you are looking for optimal health, it's a no brainer!
As you begin cleansing your liver, you may see gradual or even huge improvements from the very beginning.
You may notice:

• A reduction in food cravings
• Fewer emotional swings
• More energy
• Increased metabolism
• Increased immunity

Some adverse effects that you could also see but that are relatively uncommon:
• Headache
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Mucus and unusual secretions in your bowel movements (Don't worry!  This is normal for some people ).

Many liver cleanses can be harsh and honestly a change in eating habits will be very beneficial but it is not an absolute requirement in detoxifying your liver.

Each morning consume the following tea.
Liver Cleansing Tea (can be consumed hot or cold)
When making hot tea, boil the water on the stove top.  DO NOT MICROWAVE (the microwave changes the physiology of the water, distorting and changing the molecular structure).

2 Drops Lemon essential oil

2 Drop Peppermint essential oil

1/2 Fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 12 oz mug of water
Wait 20 Minutes before eating anything.  This is all that is necessary for helping to cleanse and purify your liver. 
For added benefits and honestly better results, keep reading.
Apply 3 drops of lemon oil and 3 drops of peppermint oil to the soles of clean feet every morning and every night.

Drink fresh squeezed lemon in your water throughout the day.  Most people find that adding the essential oils in the morning is plenty and they do not add more during the rest of the day. 
Changing your diet is probably the most difficult part but it doesn't have to be.  If you have followed us here for a while you know my beliefs on incorporating green smoothies into your diet plan.  Here we go again.  There are many recipes listed here on this blog.  Simply key in "smoothie" into the search box and it will bring up a lot of information and recipes for you.
If you will discipline yourself to consuming at least one green smoothie each day (preferably after your Liver Cleansing Tea) you will see a definitive difference and faster detox of your liver and your other organs as well.  You will see increased energy levels and symptoms of dis-ease fade away.

Perhaps A Liver Cleanse Would Be Helpful?

Supporting your liver may just be the missing key to your optimum health!

But how do you know if a liver cleanse would be helpful?  Well, if you are experiencing any of the symptoms posted in the previous post, "Your Liver-Is It Toxic?" then it will be advantageous for you to consider doing a liver cleanse.  Take that one step further, it will be advantageous for you to actually do a liver cleanse. 

Your liver is an amazing filter and the first line of defense for your immune system.  The liver has over 300 responsibilities the main of which is to filter and cleanse your blood.  When your liver is not functioning correctly a whole slew of symptoms of illness can occur.

The liver has two blood supplies, one comes from the lungs and heart and the other from
the stomach and intestines. The blood comes in and goes through the filtering process to remove all of the impurities out of the blood. It gets oxygen from the lungs, it gets nutrients from the small intestines and stomach.  Then the red blood cells are released through the other end of the liver.  When the liver works properly is is all clean and happy with plenty of oxygen, nutrients and the strength to fight off toxins.  If your liver is overloaded with to many toxins the blood get disbursed without being completely clean.  It still has the oxygen and nutrients attached but it still has chemicals, msg's, gmo's, preservatives, nitrates, carbon dioxide and any host of other toxins that have not been removed from the red blood cells.  As your blood pulses throughout your body to feed and nourish the cells and provide oxygen, each cell has to be able to accept these nutrients and release carbon dioxide along with any other toxins. So it pulls in and uses the oxygen, the foods
and nutrients, and creates ATP,
which is the energy to the cell.

The foreign items to your body are the toxins.  The cell recognises foreign items as toxins and literally builds a place within the cell to house the toxins. Over time, the house full of toxins becomes larger sending a message to the brain in the form of symptoms or dis-ease.

The liver secretes vital digestive juices that help properly digest food and cleanse the blood. Chemicals, pesticides, polluted air, preservatives in our food and water supplies are inhaled
and absorbed daily. Our exposure to toxins is increased by our use of steroids, medications,

Your Liver-Is It Toxic?

What does it mean to have a toxic liver?  When you are having trouble with your liver or your liver is having a hard time removing all of the toxins that bombard it from everyday life, many symptoms can occur and you may not even give your liver a second thought.  So many times, we treat the symptom rather than the cause.

Good Health Can Be So Complicated

We go along doing our normal routine when suddenly for no apparent reason, we fall off the cliff.  Maybe not a literal cliff but figuratively speaking our health seems to suddenly run downhill.

Many of us will play the shoulda, coulda, woulda game thinking we should have seen this coming.  I would have done something different.  I could have changed things.
Well obviously, that's not going to change anything about where we are today.
