There is an average of 360 species of thyme around the world. This perennial plant, was once used by the ancient Romans as a remedy for melancholy. Some historians believe that thyme was used in the medieval period to impart vigour and courage amongst its people.
Most people are aware of its wide usage in the culinary arts. However, there are many who are ignorant of thyme’s medicinal value.
